From Non-Swimmer to Surfer Babe

Remember when you were a kid and you felt like you could do anything, be anyone you wanted to be? You were fearless and filled with hope! The world was your oyster and you couldn’t wait to taste everything the world had to offer. I want to tell you this: that possibility is still true, and it is waiting for you.

One of the most amazing things I’ve seen as an instructor at Pura Vida Adventures is the way that this surf camp has changed people’s lives. I’m not talking about glowing tans, or sexy surf biceps, although these things are also a nice takeaway from surf camp! I’m talking about seeing women remember, maybe for the first time in many years, their depths of power, and bravery, their innate ability to transform, each day, into someone even more awe-inspiring than before.

Our alumni Arpita is an incredible example of this. She won a contest to come to PVA, and morphed from a timid non-swimmer into a super stoked surfer babe.

There are so many stories like this. People leaving soul-sucking jobs, badass moms re-learning their warrior-mamma selves, students with arthritis, back pain, chronic disease, over-coming their fears and finding healing in the warm waves. Every time I hear one of these stories, I am reminded of how amazingly empowering surfing is.

We hope today you know the full depth of your strength. And if you need to be reminded, check out Arpita’s storywhat are you waiting for? It’ll fire you right up.

Love,

PVA
