Even though I’ve been teaching surfing for over 13 years, sometimes I still feel like an uncoordinated baby deer, falling all over her legs for the first time. This is especially awkward for a girl whose name means “Full of Grace” (Oh, the irony!)

Honestly, the delicate balance of strength and finesse in surfing is something that challenges me every time I get in the water. And that’s why I love it!

Still, when I get my most frustrated it’s helpful to remember that the waves confound even the best of surfers. Including…animals?

You read that right. The lovely people at the National Geographic compiled a series of the best animal surfing videos, and you gotta see it to believe it!
