We all know that Costa Rica has been called the “happiest country in the world,” and there are many reasons why: beautiful beaches, incredible surfing, a culture and love of la pura vida (the pure life), friendly people, amazing food, delicious tropical fruit, lush jungle, and…a lot of dogs?

Yup, it’s true. If you’re a pup lover, your paradise exists here in Costa Rica! 

El Territorio de Zaguates (Land of the Mixed Breeds) is a volunteer-run organization that houses, spays, neuters, cares for, and attempts to find “forever homes” for over 900 strays from all over the country.

People come from all over the world to play and frolic in this sunny dog kingdom with never before seen mixed breeds like “‘Fire-Tailed Border Cocker’” and “Shaggy Shepard Dachspaniel.”

I mean, c’mon: Look at that face! I think someone is telling you to book a flight to Costa Rica IMMEDIATAMENTE!
